Yin Yoga and Meditation: Foundations Module

The Yin Yoga Foundations Module covers the essential elements of how to practice and teach Yin Yoga and Meditation.

Who this is for?

Whether you’re a yoga teacher wanting to become a Yin Yoga teacher, certified through a Yoga Alliance registered school, or a practitioner wanting to deepen your understanding of Yin Yoga, this training provides a strong foundation in the Yin Yoga and Meditation practices. It includes a deep dive into Yin Yoga with its ancient yogic roots and it’s effect on our physical, energetic and emotional bodies as well as basic meditation practices and enhanced opportunities to explore them within the landscape of Yin Yoga.

 

What will you learn?

  • Yin Yoga: Theory and Practice
  • The core Yin postures, modifications and prop usage.
  • The positive physiological effects of Yin Yoga on the fascia, connective tissue and joint health.
  •  How skeletal variations effect range of motion and alignment considerations.
  •  Yin sequencing and teaching methodology
  •  Yin assists
  •  Basic concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how the energy system is influenced by the practice.
  •  Learn basic meditation instructions of observation and contemplation.

 

Certification will be through The Tenth Gate School of Yoga and Energy Healing.School Registered by Yoga Alliance. Students will receive a certificate of training, which is eligible for Continuing Education credit (15 hrs) with Yoga Alliance.

 

Each day will include a 60 minute Yin practice taught by Alicia, time for small group work, partner work, short/relevant lecture, group discussions, practice teaching others in the group, including feedback and discussion and a Q & A review. Each student will receive handouts and Alicia will offer a one hour consultation with each student by appointment.
